Luxembourg Garden

Luxembourg Garden

These gardens were created in 1612 at the initiative of Queen Marie de' Medici and are the city's most beloved green lung. The garden covers 25 hectares and is divided into French and English style gardens. In the center of the garden is a large pond where children sail wooden toy boats, a tradition that has continued for decades. The atmosphere here is peaceful and cultural, with statues scattered along the paths and the famous and romantic Medici Fountain. The place is perfect for a midday picnic, reading a book on the iconic green chairs, or a leisurely stroll among the well-tended flowers. It's an ideal destination for families and couples seeking a break from the city's hustle and bustle.

Visitor tips

Look for the Medici Fountain hidden in the northeast corner of the gardens.
