Duong Lam is a preserved ancient village located about 45km from Hanoi, representing the typical architecture and lifestyle of the Red River Delta. It is famous for its houses built from laterite bricks (red clay soil) and its ancient banyan trees, village gates, and communal houses. Some of the houses are over 400 years old, and families still live in them today. The village is also the birthplace of two Vietnamese kings, making it a site of great national pride. Visitors can rent bicycles to ride through the narrow lanes, visit the local temples, and enjoy a traditional lunch in an ancient house. It offers a nostalgic journey back in time to rural Vietnam.
