Γεννάδι

Γεννάδι

Gennadi is a traditional village in the southern part of Rhodes that manages to maintain its authentic Greek character despite the growing tourism. The old center features narrow streets, whitewashed houses with hidden courtyards, and a beautiful main square with a traditional church and olive press. Unlike the northern resorts, Gennadi offers a slower pace of life. It is famous for its long, pebble beach, but the village itself is a historical landmark of rural Rhodian life. Visitors can see the old communal laundry basin where women used to gather. It is an ideal base for exploring the wilder south of the island and enjoying local cuisine in family-run tavernas.
