Asklipio is a picturesque mountain village that features a medieval castle and a stunning 11th-century Byzantine church. The castle, built by the Knights of St. John, sits on a hill overlooking the village and the sea, offering great exploration opportunities among its ruins. The Church of the Dormition of the Virgin is the highlight, known for its exceptional frescoes and its unique architecture where the floor is lower than the ground level. The village itself has remained largely untouched by major tourism, with traditional houses and a small museum located in the old olive press. It is a perfect example of a Rhodian fortified village, blending religious history with military architecture in a peaceful setting.
