Saint-Germain-des-Prés Abbey

Founded in the 6th century, this is the oldest church in Paris and was once a powerful Benedictine abbey. While much of the original complex was destroyed during the French Revolution, the church remains a stunning example of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
